Wakesurfing Laws and Regulations

In my personal opinion, Our main setback is the broad scope of interpretation of the current laws allow when it comes to towsports. It has been somewhat common talk throughout the community that due to the genius' years ago (and many still do so today) that choose to Teak Surf and take the chance of dying a wonderful death and rather quickly at that by being head level with the exhaust. I agree with THIS ban as it will definitely save lives.

For those of you who do not know the difference, TEAK SURFING, which can be at the very least extremely dangerous and make you very sick, or much worse, kill you rather quickly, is where an occupant chooses to hang onto the teak platform while the boat is underway. This should in NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM be compared to WAKE SURFING, in which the rider uses a rope of usually 21' or more, along with a board, to surf behind the boat. At the standing height of the rider and the length away from the boat, the risk of Carbon Monoxide (CO) exposure is minimal at best. There are studies available that show this, which I will post up here as soon as I have permission to do so.
